| It was pointed out to me by a friend that I have not updated in over a year. *sigh* (In case y'all can't tell, I'm not very good at updating often...) A lot has changed this year: 1. I graduated...the best parts were when it was all over, the party that evening and the lovely dress my mom made for me! 2. I started going to VCU which is a major change from being homeschooled. But y'all will be glad to know that it is going well! I'm enjoying most of my classes and have run into (not literally) many friends and made some new ones. Overall, it has been pretty good so far. 3. A downside to all this is that I'm not with my family as much and I don't see as many of my friends anymore unless they go to VCU. That is a brief update of life right not. If y'all want me to post more often, maybe you should give me ideas of what I should post about.

| A New Jersey dentist, Dr. Thomas Welch, did not approve of the use of wine in communion services and so invented a substitute that he called "Dr. Welch's Unfermented Wine" or better known today as Welch's Grape Juice. Charles Hires tried to convince coal miners to drink Hire's Herbal Tea instead of liquor but was not successful until he changed the drink's name to Hire's Root Beer. Reverend Sylvester Graham preached strongly against consuming meat, alcohol and white flour and as a result the graham cracker, a whole weat cracker, was named after him. Because of health reasons and diet needs, Will Kellogg invented corn flakes while he worked in his brother's Battle Creek hospital. A patient of Kellog's and a cowboy, Charles W. Post developed many other cereals and a coffee substitute named Postum. | | |
| Hi everyone!!! I am back from Peru. I had an amazing time meeting the people there and getting to know the people on my team better! If y'all think the driving here is bad....you haven't seen anything yet!! :) The roads were the scariest roads that I have ever been on. I will try to put up some pictures later. If you want to hear all about it, ask me about it when you see me because I don't really feel like trying to type it all up. | | |
| I think almost 4 months is a bit long to go without updating! So...my big news is that my dad and I are going to Peru this summer on a mission trip from June 28th to July 13th. I would be more excited if it weren't for the horrid SATs that I am taking tomorrow! After those are over, I can (maybe) relax! Other than that I don't have anything else exciting going on... I am going to try to be better about updating this summer...we'll see how that goes. EDIT-obviously I am very bad with dates...I return from Peru on the 6th.... | | |
| Okay, ya'll, for those of you who don't already know.....I am dropping out of TDT. My main reason is that I am rather burnt out on it....it is fun but I am ready for a break....a looooong break. Anyway...my mind is completely made up...feel free to berate me if you so desire but it won't change a thing. (I love you dearly, Becka, but I just couldn't come.) Moving on....we have lately started watching the Monkees (the show) and thought it is rather stupid at times (at other times it is clever)....we still like it! I find that I like really stupid things......I don't know if that is a good thing.....Oh! I have also been educated lately. The past few weekends we watched the original Star War movies (Episodes 4, 5 & 6). Now at least I can say that I have seen them.... I can't think of anything interesting to say except that I do hate research papers...... | | |
